Single Wire Seal (SWS) crimped onto the contact is inserted into the cavity.The wire size is linked to the hole dimension of the SWS and is smaller in diameter in order to have geometrical interference needed to create the sealing.

The material hardness is typically specified as 40-50 Shore A (ShA) durometer. This range is optimal in providing the neces-sary compression, tear resistance, and durability properties required for the automotive applications.
